Default A/Me UW Solo (Grasps + Smites) Theory (Untested)

Was just racking my brain about how an Assassin could farm the UW, in particular, just the grasps and smites (like a Rt/Me , W/Me , and E/Me can do).

I came up with this build, but I fear that the Assassins AL means that he would take too much damage, but anywhere here it is. If anyone could test this out for me, it would be appreciated.

Skills :

(Sorry I dont know how to use the new icons, hope someone can do it for me)

-Sympathetic Visage (to stop the grasps interrupting + the smites healing )
-Ancestors Visage (used after SV - so that a visage will be up at all times)
-Lead Attack (in build theory, this was 'Golden Fox Strike' because SV is an enchant)
-Offhand Attack (in theory this was 'Golden Phoenix Strike')
-Dual Attack (Death Blossom for some nice multiple target damage)
-Flashing Blades (E) - 75% chance to block incoming attacks while attacking. With this up all of the time, you shouldnt get hit much.
-Shadow Refuge - Can be used WITH Flashing Blades, thats why I didnt take Feigned Neutrality.
-Dark Escape - For the run to the smites.

Attrib : Dagger Mastery = 12+1+3
Rest should go in Illusion and Shadow Arts, and remainders in Critical Strikes. Wiki is playing up, so i cant check the attrib balance.

Armor : Not too sure. Maybe the +15AL while attacking would be a good idea. (Nightstalkers).

Weapon : Zealous STANCED Daggers of Shelter (Yes im buffing the AL )

I hope most people know the concept behind a smite run with SV and AV, but anyway :

1) Enter UW
2) Take the quest 'Clearing the Chamber' from the ghost.
3) Put up a visage before aggroing a group (3/4/5) of grasps, then use dark escape to pull them to a safe location.
4) Maintain Flashing Blades.
5) Let out your combo.
6) Use Shadow Refuge as a heal.
7) Repeat until the 3 groups around the chamber are clear.
8) Run to the smites.... i cant find the video atm, but i know Witte posted one somewhere.
9) SMITES! Ecto time.
10) Remember to keep SV/AV up at all times, and do not attack a smite that is using SoJ.
11) Keep Flashing Blades up as well, heal when needed.
12) The first part of the fight with a group of smites will be the hardest because of Zealots Fire, so make sure you heal.
13) Rinse and repeat for other groups. GL on ectos.

EDIT : Watch out for the enchant stripping nightmares.

Typically I deleted my SSin 2 weeks ago.... so I cant test this build. if anyone could do it for me, it would be appreciated (get some SS's).

If anyone generally has a problem with the build, or thinks that there is something I have missed out, either reply to this thread or PM me.

Anyone familar with the other grasps + smite runs should be able to use this build correctly, however like I said the AL could be a problem.

Suggestions appreciated, flame posts like 'OMG SSIN CANNOT SOLO UW' are not appreciated.

Might work, I just see 2 critical points:

1. low armor
2. Flashing Blades + SV isn t really the best synergy, but might still work

How come? SV is going to prevent the use of Fear Me, Skull Crack and Distracting Blow, as well as stop the Smites from getting a SoJ up. Flashing will makes sure that the attacks that they manage to inflict is 75% chance blocked.

I agree with what you said about the AL, but i think when used correctly, the build has about 95 AL, not sure, going to make a PvP char to check.

And also, the main reason for SV is the smites, i.e. their excessive healing.

EDIT : Oh i get it now, Flashing is going to block them, and SV/AV doesnt trigger on blocks....or does it? :P Hmm.

Solution - Leave SV up a bit before hitting Flashing

Oh thats just great *sigh* :P

Maybe swap shadow refuge for feigned, not sure. Just need a tester to try this build

i deleted my assa, u could run my fave, Arcane Echo Shadow Form Feigned Deadly Paradox then a combo so u can spam Death Blossem like mad? (jsut an idea)



EDIT, zealous/vamp daggers of enchanting ftw (shadowform would never come off of u )

I dont think Shadow Form can be kept up constantly. Afaik, due to the recharge time of arcane echo, SF would run out sooner or later.

this would probablywork up to the smites, but they hit very hard and even with a 75% block chance you could probably only take on one group of smites at a time

Shield of Judgement will kill you on smites.

And Aataxes use Deadly Riposte.

AV/SV kill smites energy, and this build runs past the aataxe.

Anyways I doubt this build will work. AV/SV require the enemy to hit you, while Flashing Blades makes you block.

Yeah, thats the slight flaw.Gotta come up with a nice ssin move to counter the damage done... seeing as ssins cant really tank :P

I was thinking that too. Also depending on if your energy is running low or not you could use Blessed Insignia's to boost your AL. However Assassins usually have a dire need for energy so I dont know how well that would go over.

could take graspings but smites will destroy you. you arent draining their energy. they use zealot's smiting. and SoJ will PWN you.

coloneh, not so negative please :P

If u tank a bit with SV + feigned neutrality.. their energy runs out. Then you keep up AV/SV and attack... the point of problem I see here is the blocking/AV-SV thingy...

Another thing u can try... is IW... Feigned doesn't get off until u use a skill then. And you can freely attack away. Use shadow Refuge when feigned runs out (bring deadly paradox!) and just IW them to death....

One problem: Energy management... u won't crit..

just what iv written looooooooooooong ago.... every profession can do a smiterun as long as they hav av+sv+physical resistance -.-" the rest is just dmg skills or running skills (illusion of haste is 1 too!) or some healing skills

They only use SoJ once. So if you can last until its down,y ou can take them.
